Since 1997, the WRC-SHRM has been serving local HR professionals throughout Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. The Western Reserve Chapter is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and recognized as a 100% Chapter. Our chapter membership has grown to over 150 members representing area employers in numerous industries.
The WRC-SHRM is committed to serving and providing HR professionals with the resources necessary to be successful in this profession. Our chapter is dedicated to SHRM’s Purpose to elevate the HR Profession; SHRM's Mission to empower people and workplaces by advancing HR practices and by maximizing human potential; and SHRM's Vision to build a world of work that works for all.
The WRC-SHRM's mission is to partner with local organizations to provide development programs, professional resources and continuing education opportunities addressing current HR issues. This networking and sharing of ideas and experiences promotes best practices in the HR profession and creates opportunities for our members.

We strive to provide relevant HR education/training, networking and opportunities to serve the community and the profession. In addition, our chapter is proud to serve as a mentoring organization for the Youngstown State University Student Chapter of SHRM. The WRC-SHRM is dedicated to fostering the development of students pursuing a career in Human Resources.
